About ZAFAN
An Omani craft with a clear specialism
ZAFAN is an Omani brand specialising in the design, fabrication and installation of palm-frond roofs, led by a team whose hands-on experience in this craft spans more than twenty years.
Team experience, new identity
ZAFAN was founded to present its team’s palm-frond roofing experience under a dedicated, clearly focused identity. The identity is new; the experience is long-standing — years of preparing fronds and fabricating and installing roof covers across many sites.
We chose to focus on the roof alone. That focus lets us give proper care to the cover, edges, layers and fixings, and to act as a specialist partner to the project’s design and construction teams.
Our scope
What we deliver
- Palm-frond roof design and detailing.
- Frond preparation and cover fabrication.
- Roof installation on site.
- Roof layer options to suit the use.
- Renovation and maintenance of existing roofs.
- Custom designs and special requests.
Outside our specialism
- Constructing buildings or complete hotel projects.
- Earth, stone, furniture or any other work not related to roofs.
What we stand by
Precise craft
Even coverage, clean edges and secure fixings are what make the difference in a palm-frond roof.
Clear scope
We agree what the work includes before we start, and set it out in writing in our proposal.
Respect for place
We shape each roof around how the space is used and its character, within the designer’s and owner’s vision.
Working with the project team
We coordinate schedules, details and interfaces with designers and contractors.
Sultanate of Oman
Omani roots
Palm fronds are part of the memory of place in Oman — in the arish, the shade canopy and the majlis. We bring that knowledge to contemporary hospitality and tourism projects, adapted to their requirements.
